Reviews about St Ives Pasty Bakery
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆2017-08-09, by Kim AlexanderThe young girls serving on the counter were very polite. However, the older lady with glasses was extremely rude today considering we had already purchased food from them! We've been coming to St Ives for many years and on our last three visits we have always been to this shop as we enjoy the food. However, after today's shocking visit we will NEVER be purchasing ANYTHING from here again!!! If I could award it zero stars I would be doing. Never have I come across such an arrogant and rude woman!! We had purchased snacks for five adults and one child today. It was raining rather heavily so once we had purchased the food we could only sit on one of the chairs at the table for customers as the others were wet. Our 2 year old child stayed in her small fold up pushchair and the other adults stood around the table. A clear entrance was left for people to move in and out and the large price board was also left clear. We had been there a good five to ten minutes enjoying our food, grateful for the little shelter from the rain. There was only ONE customer to the counter during this time. We were almost finished and ready to leave when the old and rude woman came to the front of the counter from the back of the small shop and shouted at us telling us to move HER table to the side and move away from the front of her shop! She said that customers could not get in and out (they could unless they were 4foot wide!! And there were no people even attempting to come into the shop). Clearly the problem is not the entrance to the shop but her attitude! She was very rude during this time and had she have asked politely or even come out to move the table herself we would not have had a problem. Apparently shouting at paying customers is how it is done in St Ives? She spoke to us like we were paupers attempting to gather scraps dropped by customers. The young girls on the counter looked embarrassed as they could clearly see that we were not impressed. We were very annoyed as clearly once they have got your money they couldn't care less about their customers anymore, however we shuffled her table along and moved a little to the side as requested. This was clearly not good enough for her even though we had done what she asked. We wanted drinks after we had eaten our snacks but chose to go elsewhere as after she had so rudely shouted at us she then came back to the store front and look disgustedly at our two year old neice like a piece of dirt and shook her head. Our neice who was quite happily eating her sausage roll in her pushchair, chatting away to herself, was causing no harm whatsoever to anyone. How very disgraceful and rude to look at a child in such a manner when not even causing a stir!! Words cannot describe how peeved I am with this woman. Her attitude stinks. We were paying customers who decided to use the seating arrangements provided by them for customers. Granted we couldn't sit at the other three chairs we chose to push them in and stand behind them instead. I am far from pleased and it has ruined our perception on the people of St Ives. We now look forward to discovering new food outlets where customer service is a PRIORITY, NOT A SHAMBLES!
